After securing a historic victory in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has geared up to add new momentum to the city’s development and ensure that the benefits of progress reach every household. Newly elected Mayor Ravi Landge, Deputy Mayor Sharmilatai Babar, and Leader of the House Prashant Shitole were felicitated in a grand ceremony organised by the district executive committee at the BJP city central office in Morwadi. This event was not merely a felicitation programme but marked the formal beginning of a new five-year phase of development for Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of City BJP President Shatrughan (Bapu) Kate and was attended by former MP Amar Sable, former Pradhikaran Chairman Sadashiv Khade, Organisation General Secretary Morehwar Shedge, Women’s Morcha President Sujata Palande, General Secretaries Madhukar Bachhe and Vaishali Khadey, Vikas Dholas, former Mayor Rahul Jadhav, Yuva Morcha President Dinesh Yadav, Mandal Presidents Ganesh Dhore, Kailas Sanap, Kavita Hinge, along with newly elected corporators, core committee members, BJP office bearers and party workers, who extended their best wishes to the newly elected leadership.

On this occasion, tribute was paid to the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar. Following the felicitation ceremony, a special meeting was held to discuss upcoming organisational programmes and planning of development works. The event generated tremendous enthusiasm among BJP workers and further strengthened the party’s position in the city’s political landscape. The introductory address was delivered by Organisation General Secretary Morehwar Shedge, the programme was anchored by Vaishali Khadey, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Madhukar Bachhe.

City President Shatrughan (Bapu) Kate credited the party workers for the electoral success. He said,
“As City President, I feel proud that our workers have collectively achieved this victory. The leadership that has assumed office as Mayor and Deputy Mayor today is grounded and connected to the people. Ensuring that the schemes of the BJP governments at the Centre and the State reach the last citizen of the city will be their primary objective. In the coming years, Pimpri-Chinchwad will be recognised as one of the best cities in the country.”

“Mayor’s Post Is a Responsibility Given by the People” – Mayor Ravi Landge

Responding to the felicitation, Mayor Ravi Landge became emotional and stated,
“The post of Mayor is not merely a position of power, but a responsibility entrusted by the people. Ensuring 24-hour water supply, strengthening sewage management, and accelerating all Smart City projects will be my foremost duties. We will coordinate with the government to find concrete solutions to issues such as unauthorised constructions and penalty taxes. While developing the city, no political discrimination will be practiced.”

Focus on Women and Youth Empowerment – Deputy Mayor Sharmilatai Babar

Deputy Mayor Sharmilatai Babar highlighted women-centric issues and said,
“My goal is that every woman in the city should feel safe and self-reliant. I will work to improve the quality of municipal schools and make healthcare facilities accessible to the common citizen. We are also planning special initiatives to provide women self-help groups with assured marketplaces.”

“Transparent and Dynamic Administration Is Our Goal” – Leader of the House Prashant Shitole

Leader of the House Prashant Shitole emphasised administrative reforms and stated,
“I assure citizens that public funds will be utilised only for appropriate development works. Corruption-free administration and swift disposal of files will be our working approach. We will function as ‘Team BJP’ by taking all corporators along to complete pending development works in every ward.”
