Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has received an excellent response to its Mobile Pass Center initiative, generating a total revenue of ₹12,975,760 through its Pass Department within just three days, from January 5 to January 7.

The revenue includes collections from both permanent pass centers and mobile pass centers operating during morning and afternoon sessions. Permanent pass centers functioned at Hadapsar, Swargate, Nigdi, Katraj, Bhosari, Pune Municipal Corporation, and Wagholi, while mobile pass centers were successfully organized at Radha Chowk, SNDT College Metro Station, and Talegaon Dhamdhere.

The strong public response highlights the growing demand for accessible, citizen-friendly public transport services, especially among students, daily commuters, and working professionals.

Mobile Pass Center Scheme: Bringing Services Closer to Citizens

The Mobile Pass Center scheme, launched in 2025, was conceptualized under the guidance of PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Pankaj Devre. The initiative aims to make bus pass services more accessible by bringing them directly to commuters’ neighborhoods.

Under this scheme, mobile pass centers will be arranged at six different locations across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the PMRDA region. These centers will operate Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Passengers can obtain passes using both online and cash payment modes, ensuring convenience for all sections of society. PMPML officials stated that the initiative not only improves commuter convenience but also helps streamline operations and increase revenue efficiency.
