MLA Mahesh Landge’s eye-catching

Pimpri-Chinchwad | The Maharashtra government is positive to take concrete measures to address the growing industrial and residential power problems in Bhosari assembly constituency including Pimpri-Chinchwad. Necessary funds will be provided for new proposed development works and infrastructure projects. Also, all possible cooperation will be provided to enable power supply, assured Minister of State Meghna Bordikar-Sakore.

On the occasion of the Maharashtra Assembly Budget Session, BJP leader and MLA Mahesh Landge presented various eye-catching demands in the House under Rule 105 regarding the empowerment of power supply in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. The Chief Minister and Energy Minister gave written replies and indicated to accelerate important projects to further empower the power system.

Under Ganeshkhind city council, a total of 4,53,820 industrial, commercial and residential customers are currently supplied with electricity in Bhosari, Chaholi, Moshi, Talwade, Chikhli etc. areas. Out of these, 580 are high voltage customers. Through four 220 kV substations of Mahapareshan: Bhosari RS-1 (275 MVA), Bhosari RS-2 (150 MVA), Telco (150 MVA), Chinchwad RS (230 MVA): A total of 805 MVA installed capacity is available and the current demand has reached 627 MVA. Considering the future stress due to increasing urbanization, the need to build additional infrastructure was highlighted. The 200 kV substations at Moshi and 200 kV Chaholi have been built and the proposed works will help solve the power problem, Bordikar-Sakore has also said.

Green light for new substations…

According to the information of the Energy Department, the following projects will be accelerated: Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation at Safari Park, Moshi — Power supply in Moshi, Dudulgaon, Akurdi, Chikhli, Talwade areas will be more stable. New EHV substation at Chaholi — Power will be available at sufficient pressure in Bhosari, Chaholi, Dighi, Dhanori areas. Proposal to install two new power transformers at Century Inca EHV substation — An important step to meet future demand. A separate proposal has been submitted for a medium voltage switching station.

Ambitious plan for underground power lines

Overhead power lines in Bhosari Gaothan will be made underground in phases under the RDSS scheme. Instructions have been given to immediately take up the work of laying separate feeders and underground cables from Devi Indrayani Switching Substation at Talwade. These measures will reduce frequent power outages. There will be continuity in industrial production. Residential areas will get safe and stable power supply. Notably, the government is positive to provide the necessary funds considering the increasing urbanization and action is underway to approve the relevant proposals on priority.

Curb the types of electricity theft…

The largest encroachment operation in India was carried out in the Kudalwadi area. About 900 acres of area were vacated in this operation. There were about 5 thousand illegal properties in Kudalwadi. There were only 900 authorized electricity connections in that area. There were more than 3 thousand 800 unauthorized electricity connections. This is recorded with Mahavitaran. Types of electricity theft should be curbed. There are problems like new cables, lack of electricity workers, delay in maintenance and repair work. MLA Landge demanded that a meeting be held with small entrepreneurs’ associations, local administration and public representatives to plan concrete solutions to this. Minister of State Meghna Bordikar-Sakore responded positively to this.

Considering the increasing urbanization in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the work of providing infrastructure to enable electricity supply and providing various branch offices of Mahavitaran has been done only because of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Chikhli-Moshi-Charholi residential corridor has been developed. Also, the Punawale-Ravet-Kivale-Wakad residential corridor is growing. The BJP Mahayuti government under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendraji has taken concrete decisions to build electric infrastructure in both the corridors and has also started work. I thank the Chief Minister and the state government for approving the proposed works and assuring availability of funds.
