Blaze Erupts After Blast at SBL Company in Katol Taluka; Several Workers Feared Trapped

At least 15 people were killed in a massive explosion at an explosives manufacturing unit in Raolgaon village of Katol taluka in Nagpur district on Sunday morning. The blast occurred at the SBL company, triggering a major fire and causing extensive damage to the facility.
According to preliminary reports, around 25 to 30 workers were present in the affected section of the factory when the explosion took place. Several workers sustained injuries, and some are feared to be trapped under debris following the blast and subsequent fire.
Rescue operations were launched immediately after the incident. Teams from the police, fire brigade and emergency response units rushed to the spot and began efforts to douse the flames and search for survivors. The injured have been shifted to government and private hospitals in Nagpur, with some reported to be in critical condition.
A heavy police bandobast has been deployed in the area, and senior district administration officials are monitoring the situation on-site. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Officials stated that safety compliance at the factory will also be examined as part of the probe.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the region, with grieving families awaiting further updates on the victims and rescue efforts continuing on a war footing.
