DY Patil College of Engineering Emerges Runner-Up at Pentacle 2026
Outstanding Performance Among 32 Competing Teams

PUNE: The Football Team of D Y Patil College of Engineering showcased exceptional talent and determination by securing the prestigious Runner-Up position at Pentacle 2026, an inter-collegiate sports tournament organized by MKSSS Cummins College of Engineering for Women. The tournament was held from 27th February to 1st March 2026 at Karve Nagar, Pune, and witnessed participation from 32 competitive teams.
Demonstrating remarkable teamwork and resilience, the DY Patil football squad delivered an outstanding performance throughout the event. On 28th February, the team clinched two crucial victories, successfully advancing to the next stage of the tournament. Continuing their winning momentum on 1st March, they secured two more impressive wins, earning a well-deserved place in the finals.
In the championship match, the team fought valiantly in a thrilling and closely contested encounter. Although they narrowly missed lifting the title, their spirited performance and sportsmanship earned widespread appreciation from spectators and organizers alike.
The team was captained by Shreyash Bokade and comprised Atharv Savekar, Pravin Korde, Sarvesh Charati, Parth Pawar, Ansh Munde, and Tejas Patil. The players were guided by Mr. Abaji Mane, Director of Physical Education & Sports, whose strategic mentorship and unwavering encouragement played a vital role in the team’s remarkable journey.
This achievement has brought immense pride to DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, and stands as a testament to the institution’s growing excellence in sports alongside academics.
