‘Criminal Action Will Be Taken in the Assembly Ruckus Incident’; Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar

Mumbai | After the chaos that took place in the lobby of the Vidhan Bhavan between the supporters of MLAs Jitendra Awhad and Gopichand Padalkar, there has been an uproar in the state’s politics. In this matter, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar has taken a strict stand, saying, “Criminal action will be taken immediately after receiving the report tomorrow,” he warned.

After the incident, BJP’s state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule summoned Gopichand Padalkar. Following this, Padalkar expressed regret before the media. “The incident is extremely unfortunate. I am deeply saddened by it and I express my apology,” he said. However, he avoided giving any further comments.

Meanwhile, NCP leaders Jayant Patil and Jitendra Awhad met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Chief Minister and Home Minister Fadnavis himself has requested the Assembly Speaker to take appropriate action in this matter.

“The incident in the Vidhan Bhavan premises is unfortunate. The report on this matter will be received tomorrow, and accordingly, strict action will be taken against the concerned individuals. Strict measures will also be taken under the provisions within my authority,” clarified Speaker Narwekar.

Due to the videos of this incident going viral on social media, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray has also demanded action against those who issued passes to miscreants.
