Pimpri-Chinchwad: Around 40 senior citizens from Pimpri-Chinchwad, including former corporator Suman Netke, are currently stranded in Dubai after flight services were disrupted due to the prevailing war-like situation in the region.

Among the stranded group are six members of the Gaikwad family from the Sangvi area. The group had departed for Dubai on February 25 for a leisure tour and was scheduled to return to India today. However, due to security concerns and the cancellation of flights operating toward India, their return journey has become uncertain.

According to available information, flights from Dubai have been suspended as a precautionary measure amid escalating tensions in parts of the Middle East. As a result, several international services have either been cancelled or rescheduled.

All members of the group are currently staying at a safe location and are following instructions issued by local authorities. Despite this, anxiety has gripped their families back home, especially as the group includes elderly citizens whose health remains a key concern.

Family members have urged the Government of India to arrange special flights for the safe evacuation of stranded Indian nationals. Efforts are reportedly underway to contact concerned officials, with hopes that arrangements for an early and secure return will be made soon.
