Washington: The US military has reported that at least 200 American soldiers have been injured so far in the conflict initiated by the US and Israel against Iran. Officials clarified that these casualties have occurred since the inception of ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ and that most of the injuries are minor. Of these, approximately 180 soldiers have already returned to active duty. It has also emerged that at least 10 soldiers sustained serious injuries. Sources indicated that some soldiers suffered burns, shrapnel wounds from explosions, and traumatic brain injuries. However, the exact causes or specific details regarding these injuries have not been officially disclosed.

13 Soldiers Dead

So far, 13 American soldiers have lost their lives in this conflict. Six individuals were killed when a military refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq. Six soldiers died in an Iranian drone attack on an operations center at a civilian port in Kuwait, while one soldier, who was injured in an attack on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Trump’s Ambivalent Stance

Former US President Donald Trump has adopted a contradictory stance regarding this conflict. On one hand, he appealed to allied nations to step forward to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz; on the other, he signaled a desire to avoid military intervention, noting that the United States possesses ample oil reserves of its own.
