Massive Fire Breaks:
A major fire broke out on the terrace of the Ramesh Dyeing building in the busy and densely populated Sadashiv Peth area of Pune on Saturday morning. The sudden blaze created panic among local residents after thick black smoke was seen rising from the top of the structure.
Within minutes of receiving distress calls, the Pune Fire Brigade deployed four fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters quickly initiated firefighting operations and managed to prevent the flames from spreading to the lower floors of the building.
🔍 Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Preliminary reports indicate that the blaze may have been triggered by:
-
Dry waste stored on the terrace
-
Scrap material
-
An electrical short circuit
However, officials confirmed that the exact cause is still under investigation.
🚒 Firefighting Efforts Prevent Major Disaster
Due to the rising smoke, there was momentary tension among local residents and nearby shop owners. But the fire brigade effectively reached the terrace and controlled the fire before it could spread further.
Authorities confirmed that:
-
No casualties or injuries have been reported
-
Residents were temporarily evacuated for safety
-
Only items stored on the terrace suffered damage
Fire officials said the situation could have been far worse if the fire was not controlled in time, as the building is located in a highly congested market area.

The stored goods and materials kept on the terrace have been badly damaged. Officials are currently assessing the monetary loss caused by the fire.
Further details are expected once the fire department completes its inspection and investigation.
