Mumbai | Special Correspondent | The vision of establishing a center dedicated to art, skills, and craftsmanship for children from tribal and underprivileged communities in Pimpri-Chinchwad—the land of the pioneering freedom-fighting Chapekar brothers—is now nearing reality. State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has adopted a positive stance regarding the allocation of land for this center, which is the brainchild of the city’s pride and Padma Shri awardee Girish Prabhune. A proposal to this effect is set to be approved in the Cabinet meeting.

MLA Mahesh Landge has achieved significant success through his persistent follow-up to resolve various pending issues related to the Revenue Department in Pimpri-Chinchwad city, including the Bhosari Assembly constituency. Seven crucial decisions regarding the city’s development were taken during a key meeting held at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, senior officials from the Revenue Department, and representatives from relevant departments attended the meeting. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, positive discussions were held regarding the various demands raised by MLA Mahesh Landge, and orders for immediate action were issued on several matters.
Tribal arts and skills in India are fading away. Amidst the growing influence of English-medium schools, there is a need to establish a center that promotes and propagates Indian culture and civilization. The State Government was urged to take the initiative in this regard and to make 15 hectares of land available in Pimpri-Chinchwad city for this purpose—a demand made by the Krantiveer Chapekar Smarak Samiti. In response, a plan is under consideration to allocate 10 hectares of land for the project in the first phase and another 5 hectares in the second phase. The project envisages the construction of a grand complex that will include both built-up structures and open spaces. Additionally, the meeting resolved the issue regarding the transfer of land for the upcoming IIM Nagpur satellite campus in Moshi. The Revenue Minister directed that the relevant order be issued within seven days, thereby accelerating this ambitious educational project. Instructions were also issued to submit a revised proposal to provide the necessary land for the Krantiveer Chapekar Memorial Committee, with the State Government adopting a positive stance regarding its approval. Furthermore, to resolve the long-standing issue of issuing property cards for properties within the authority’s jurisdiction, directives were given for the Settlement Commissioner and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to coordinate and complete a time-bound program within six months.
Separate Buildings for Talathi and Mandal Officer Offices
A decision was also taken during the meeting to construct permanent buildings for the Talathi and Mandal Officer offices within the Bhosari Assembly constituency. In light of the growing population, ‘in-principle’ approval was granted for staff recruitment and the creation of additional posts in the Additional Tehsildar’s office to eliminate delays in revenue services. Instructions were issued to immediately submit a proposal to include the villages of Bopkhel, Dudulgaon, Charholi Budruk, and Chauvisawadi under the jurisdiction of the City Survey Officer, Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Revenue Minister assured that approval would be granted as soon as the proposal is received; this will eliminate the need for citizens to visit the Pune office for revenue-related work.
Dedicated Premises for the Additional Tehsildar’s Office…
Additionally, the District Collector of Pune was directed to identify an alternative site and submit a proposal to the government within 15 days to secure permanent premises for the Additional Tehsildar’s office in Pimpri-Chinchwad. MLA Mahesh Landge stated that the consistent follow-up on these matters would boost the city’s development. Positive decisions regarding long-pending issues faced by the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad have created an atmosphere of satisfaction among the citizens. “I have consistently and effectively presented every issue concerning the development of Pimpri-Chinchwad before the government. We remain committed to resolving all matters essential for the city’s sustainable development and the convenience of its citizens,” stated MLA Mahesh Landge.
