  • Major success for BJP MLA Mahesh Landge’s persistent follow-up

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Traffic issues on the Pune–Nashik highway are increasing day by day. In order to expedite the road widening (Elevated Corridor) from Nashik Phata to Khed, it is necessary to complete the land acquisition process. Accordingly, the state government is expected to provide around ₹600 crore for land acquisition. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a positive stance in this regard. A decision will be taken soon, informed BJP MLA Mahesh Landge.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has undertaken a major project for constructing an eight-lane elevated corridor on National Highway No. 48 between Nashik Phata and Khed. Tenders for this have already been issued. However, due to incomplete land acquisition, the tender process remains unfinished. 100% land acquisition is mandatory for the work to begin. Without it, the project cannot be started. But due to lack of sufficient funds, the land acquisition work is delayed.

Meanwhile, MLA Mahesh Landge had raised this important issue during the Legislative Assembly session. He emphasized the urgent need for land acquisition for the Pune-Nashik highway, which is critical for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Financial assistance is required for this. Accordingly, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have submitted proposals to the State Government’s Urban Development Department. Action on these proposals is necessary. MLA Landge consistently followed up with Chief Minister Fadnavis, and it seems the efforts are yielding results.

What is the Proposal with the State Government?

For the road between Nashik Phata and Khed falling under the PCMC limits, a proposal seeking financial assistance of ₹262.79 crore has been submitted for acquiring 1,23,843 sq. meters of land.

For the 14.1-hectare area under PMRDA, acquisition of 10.5013 hectares is planned. The financial assistance of ₹288 crore is proposed to be made available by the State Government through revenue from State GST and ownership fees. This proposal has been submitted to the Urban Development Department.

Once sanctioned, the ramp work of the eight-lane elevated corridor from Nashik Phata to Khed and the 65-meter Ring Road work from Solu to Nirgudi (Lohegaon) can be initiated.

“A proposal for land acquisition funding for the road widening from Nashik Phata to Khed has been submitted by the PCMC and PMRDA to the State Government. The BJP-led Mahayuti government under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a positive stand on it. A meeting was held with the State Public Works Department (PWD) Minister regarding the traffic issues. Later today, a detailed meeting was held with the Divisional Commissioner. The matter of land acquisition funding is now heading toward resolution. This will help strengthen the traffic system and bring relief to the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad.”
