Sydney: Indian ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to a hospital in Sydney and is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Reports indicate that his condition turned serious after he sustained an injury while attempting a catch during the third One-Day International match.

According to medical sources, Iyer has been suffering from internal bleeding at the site of the injury. Doctors have advised that he may need to remain hospitalized for five to seven days. As a precautionary measure, he has been placed in the ICU for close observation.

Reports further state that Iyer has been in the ICU for the past two days, and doctors have expressed concerns about a possible infection due to the internal bleeding. The next 48 hours will be crucial for his recovery. If the bleeding does not stop, his stay in the ICU could be extended.

So far, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not issued any official statement regarding Iyer’s health status. Medical specialists continue to monitor his condition closely.
