“Shravan Hardikar Assumes Additional Charge as Municipal Commissioner, Arrives by Metro”

Pimpri, October 10 – On the occasion of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) 43rd Foundation Day, Maha-Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar officially took additional charge as the Commissioner of PCMC. Significantly, he arrived at the municipal headquarters using the Pune Metro, underlining his confidence in public transportation systems in the city.
Outgoing PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh was recently appointed as the Commissioner for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Nashik. To fill the vacancy, Hardikar has been given the additional responsibility of PCMC Commissioner. Marking the civic body’s Foundation Day, Hardikar arrived at the main administrative building and formally assumed office.
One of his first acts as Commissioner was to pay floral tribute to the full-body statue of the city’s architect and former MP and Mayor, the late Annasaheb Magar. He was accompanied by local MLA Amit Gorkhe during the tribute ceremony.
Administrative and Political Tug-of-War with a Lighter Side
As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, various fun activities such as tug-of-war and musical chairs were organized for municipal officials and staff. Commissioner Hardikar and MLA Gorkhe enthusiastically participated in the games, enjoying the festivities with the team.
Following the celebrations, Hardikar held his first official meeting with Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Trupti Sandbhor, and heads of various departments on the fourth floor of the main administrative building to kick-start his responsibilities.

Speaking after taking charge, Hardikar said, “PCMC is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state. The city has made consistent progress in sanitation, infrastructure development, traffic management, environmental conservation, and digital governance. With the support of citizens and municipal staff, we will chart new paths for the city’s growth and strive to provide citizen-centric governance.”
