While fans had already seen Ranbir Kapoor’s first look as Lord Ram, the trailer marks the first appearance of Yash in his intense and menacing avatar as Ravana. His commanding screen presence and powerful portrayal of the legendary antagonist have become one of the biggest highlights of the trailer.
Originally scheduled for release on July 24, the trailer was postponed before finally making its debut today. The four-minute and nine-second preview showcases a visually stunning retelling of the epic, featuring spectacular battle sequences, majestic kingdoms and emotionally charged moments.
The trailer opens with Yash’s Ravana, portraying his ambition, arrogance and relentless quest for power. From shedding blood to claim the throne to battling a mighty white elephant, every frame presents Ravana as a formidable and ruthless ruler.
Ranbir Kapoor impresses with his calm, divine and composed portrayal of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram, capturing the grace and strength associated with the iconic character. Veteran actor Arun Govil, who famously portrayed Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s legendary television series, appears in an emotional role as King Dasharatha, adding nostalgia and emotional depth to the film.
Sai Pallavi leaves a lasting impression as Goddess Sita, portraying elegance, compassion and inner strength. Apart from her graceful appearance, a sword-fighting sequence featuring Sita has emerged as one of the trailer’s most talked-about moments.
The trailer also offers glimpses of Kaikeyi, Manthara, Lakshman, played by Ravi Dubey, and Shurpanakha, portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh. A brief sequence depicting the cutting of Shurpanakha’s nose further adds to the dramatic intensity of the film.
With breathtaking visuals, emotionally powerful performances and a grand cinematic scale, the trailer has significantly heightened anticipation for Ramayana Part 1, positioning it as one of the most awaited Indian films in recent years.
