PCMC Makes Fire Certificate Mandatory for All Schools, Colleges & Coaching Classes: “No Compromise on Student Safety!”
Educational institutions in Pimpri-Chinchwad must obtain official Fire Safety Certification through online registration; strict action to be taken against centers violating fire-safety norms, says PCMC Administration.

Pimpri-Chinchwad:
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has made it mandatory for all educational institutions—including schools, colleges, coaching classes, academies, and training centers—to obtain an official Fire Safety Registration and Fire Safety Compliance Certificate from the Fire Department. Institutions failing to comply will face strict action as per the civic rules, officials said.
According to the PCMC, no educational institution is exempt from fire safety norms. Every school, college, coaching class, and training center must ensure the installation and maintenance of proper fire-safety systems such as fire extinguishers, emergency exits, alarm systems, and trained safety personnel. Ensuring fire safety is the legal and moral responsibility of the institution’s management and building owners.
The civic body has emphasized that protecting the lives of students and staff is of utmost importance. Since hundreds of students attend these institutions daily, their safety cannot be compromised under any circumstances. Strict action will be initiated against institutions that fail to follow the mandatory safety guidelines.
To streamline compliance, PCMC has introduced an online registration and application system for Fire Safety Certificates. Institutions can register through the official website:

Additionally, the Fire Department has released a QR code through which institutions can scan, upload required documents, and submit their online application for inspection and certification.
Speaking on the initiative, Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate stated that ensuring student safety is the top priority of the corporation. “Every institution must obtain the mandatory fire certificate. Those neglecting the rules and putting students at risk will face strict punitive action. Our goal is to prevent any potential fire-related incidents and ensure complete safety across all educational establishments in Pimpri-Chinchwad,” he said.
PCMC has appealed to all school principals, college authorities, and coaching class owners to complete their registration process at the earliest and maintain proper fire-safety measures throughout the year.
