Nashik TCS Conversion Case: Bulldozer Action Sparks Political Storm

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen corporator Matin Patel has landed in major trouble after the municipal administration demolished his alleged illegal residence in Naregaon in connection with the high-profile Nashik “TCS” religious conversion case.

The demolition drive was carried out early Wednesday morning under heavy police security after the civic body claimed that Patel’s office and two residential structures were unauthorized. Authorities had earlier issued a notice directing Patel to prove the legality of the properties within 72 hours.

Patel had approached the High Court seeking a stay on the action. However, after the court refused to halt the demolition process, the municipal corporation launched a full-scale bulldozer operation and razed the structure to the ground.

Allegations of Sheltering Main Accused

Police have alleged that Matin Patel helped hide arrested accused Nida Khan, along with her aunt and sister, in a house located in Naregaon. The trio is linked to the controversial Nashik TCS conversion case that has triggered statewide outrage.

According to investigators, the house where Nida Khan was allegedly sheltered was not registered in Patel’s name. However, police have named him as a co-accused in the case, intensifying the political and legal heat around the AIMIM corporator.

Protest in Unusual Style

As the demolition squad arrived at the site, some people present expressed their anger in a unique manner by garlanding civic officials involved in the action. Despite the protest, authorities continued the demolition citing the High Court’s refusal to grant any interim protection.

The bulldozer action has now created a massive political stir in the region, with sharp reactions emerging from multiple quarters over the administration’s aggressive crackdown.
