Minor Bride Murdered by 18-Year-Old Husband Over Illicit Relationship, Village Shocked
Accused Arrested From Home; Issue of Minor Marriage Comes Under Spotlight

A brutal murder case has come to light from Bhuj taluka in Gujarat’s Kutch district, where an 18-year-old man allegedly killed his minor wife and dumped her body into a well. The shocking crime has sent waves of fear and outrage across the village, while once again bringing the serious issue of minor marriage into focus.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Mohsin (18), was married to Kulsum, who is still a minor. The couple got married around two years ago. Despite the marriage, Mohsin was reportedly involved in an illicit relationship with another woman from the same village, a relationship that had been ongoing for nearly five years, even before his marriage.
Police officials stated that frequent arguments took place between Mohsin and Kulsum due to his extramarital affair. During interrogation, Mohsin confessed that he considered Kulsum an obstacle in his relationship with the other woman.
As per the FIR, on Friday night, Mohsin allegedly slit Kulsum’s throat using a sharp weapon, stuffed her body into a sack, and transported it on his motorcycle to the agricultural field where he worked. He later dumped the body into a well located in the field.
The crime came to light on Saturday morning when Kulsum’s family filed a missing complaint, stating that she had disappeared from her matrimonial home. Notably, her parental home is located barely 200 metres away from her in-laws’ house.
During the search operation, villagers noticed clothes floating in a well in the field. Upon inspection, Kulsum’s body was recovered from the well. The incident shocked the entire village.
Investigating officer A.K. Jadeja revealed that the accused and the victim were close relatives, as Kulsum was Mohsin’s paternal uncle’s daughter. Further investigation confirmed that Mohsin had continued his illicit relationship even after marriage, which ultimately led to the murder.
Police have arrested Mohsin from his house and seized the knife used in the crime as well as the motorcycle used to transport the body. Authorities are also investigating whether any other person was involved in the crime.
The case has raised serious concerns regarding child marriage, domestic violence, and illegal relationships. Further investigation is underway, and police have assured strict legal action against the accused.
