Mumbai: Rainfall activity is expected to intensify across Maharashtra over the coming week as a low-pressure area developing over the Bay of Bengal strengthens the monsoon system, according to weather forecasts.

Meteorologists have predicted that widespread rainfall is likely across the state from Monday (July 20) through Saturday, with most districts expected to receive moderate to heavy showers during the period.

According to the latest forecast, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to witness moderate rainfall across much of Maharashtra, while heavy rain is likely at several locations on the remaining days of the week.

Parts of Vidarbha are also expected to receive heavy rainfall, while other regions of the state may experience intermittent spells of intense showers as the weather system remains active.

The changing weather pattern is being attributed to the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to enhance moisture flow and strengthen monsoon conditions across Maharashtra.

Residents, especially those living in low-lying and flood-prone areas, are advised to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall.
