Released on July 23, Jana Nayagan opened to massive crowds and delivered an impressive opening weekend. However, the first Monday saw collections decline, a common trend after strong weekend performances.
The film opened with an impressive ₹42.70 crore net on Day 1, followed by ₹21.15 crore on Day 2 and ₹28.90 crore on Day 3. According to media reports, the film earned ₹10.15 crore net on its fifth day across 10,436 shows in India.
With the latest numbers, the film’s total India net collection has reached approximately ₹134.90 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹157.74 crore. The Tamil version continues to contribute the majority of the film’s earnings, maintaining a strong hold in its home market.
The overseas market also remained steady, with the film collecting ₹4 crore gross on Day 5. Its total overseas gross has now reached ₹75.50 crore, taking the worldwide gross collection to an impressive ₹233.24 crore.
Produced by KVN Productions under producer Venkat K. Narayana, Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani. The film is directed by H. Vinoth.
While the Monday drop indicates the beginning of the weekday test, the film remains one of the biggest Tamil box office successes of the year and is expected to continue its strong theatrical run in the coming days.
