During a press conference, Govinda introduced Rani Swarnkar, who will make her acting debut opposite him in the film. Besides starring in the movie, Govinda will also be producing the project.
Speaking about his comeback, the actor reflected on the challenges he faced in the film industry.
“Perhaps it was written in my destiny that I would be removed from many films. People kept saying that I would never return to cinema, but I have always believed in making a fresh start. I pray that the dream I have seen comes true through this film,” Govinda said.
He added that “Roopa” is aimed primarily at young audiences and hopes the film will inspire them to dream big and believe that their aspirations can become reality.
Govinda made his Bollywood debut in 1986 with Ilzaam and went on to become one of the biggest stars of the 1990s with blockbuster films such as Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Raja Babu, Partner, Aankhen, Deewana Mastana, and Saajan Chale Sasural. His comic timing, energetic dance performances, and unique dialogue delivery earned him a massive fan following.
While the release date of “Roopa” has not yet been announced, the film has generated excitement among fans eager to see the actor return to the big screen after a long hiatus.
