Big Update for Students! Maharashtra 5th & 8th Scholarship Exam 2026 Schedule Announced — Check Dates, Timings, and Registration Details
The Maharashtra State Examination Council has announced the final 5th and 8th standard scholarship exams before the new system begins in 2026. Online registration starts from October 27, 2025.
Mumbai:
In a major announcement for students, the Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSCE), Pune has released the schedule for the 5th and 8th standard scholarship exams.
The exams will be conducted on February 8, 2026, across all districts of Maharashtra.
This will be the last edition of the 5th and 8th standard scholarship exams, as the government has decided to implement a new scholarship structure from the academic year 2025–26.
Exam Timings and Subjects
The exams will be conducted in two sessions on February 8, 2026:
For Class 5 Students:

Marathi Language & Mathematics: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Third Language & Intelligence Test: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
For Class 8 Students:

Marathi Language & Mathematics: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Third Language & Intelligence Test: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Students from recognized schools in Maharashtra studying in Classes 5 and 8 during the 2025–26 academic year can apply.

Eligibility Criteria
Students studying in government, aided, unaided, permanent unaided, and self-financed schools are eligible.
Those enrolled in CBSE, ICSE, and other recognized boards may also apply.
Age Criteria (as of June 1, 2025):

For Primary Scholarship (Class 5): Maximum 10 years (14 years for differently-abled students).

For Middle Scholarship (Class 8): Maximum 13 years (17 years for differently-abled students).
Exam Fees
