Three Sai Devotees from Surat Killed in Tragic Car Accident in Nashik District
A speeding Fortuner car lost control on a slippery road near Raite village in Yeola taluka, leaving three dead and four injured while traveling from Surat to Shirdi for Sai Baba’s darshan.

Nashik: Continuous rainfall over the past few days has made roads across Nashik district slippery and hazardous, leading to an increase in accidents. One such tragic accident occurred early Wednesday morning in Yeola taluka, along the Nashik–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway.
According to reports, a Fortuner car carrying a group of Sai devotees from Surat to Shirdi lost control near Raite village. Due to the wet and slippery road surface, the driver was unable to regain control, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.
The impact of the crash was severe — three people lost their lives on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Nashik for treatment. Police have confirmed that all the deceased were residents of Surat.
Authorities believe the continuous rainfall, pothole-ridden roads, and poor visibility during early morning hours contributed to the accident. Locals also complained that recent rains have worsened road conditions, with mud and water-filled potholes increasing the risk of mishaps.
Police from Yeola Taluka Police Station have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Drivers are being urged to exercise caution, especially during rainy conditions when roads remain slippery and visibility is low.
