Kurlap (Sangli):
A shocking firing incident took place at Yedenipani Phata in Walwa taluka on Friday afternoon (Nov 22), leaving one man critically injured. The victim has been identified as Arjun Shankar Thorat (52).

According to police sources, Thorat suffered bullet injuries to his stomach and back. He has been rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, has created panic and tension in the surrounding area.

As soon as the incident was reported, Islampur Deputy Superintendent of Police Arun Patil and Kurlap Police Station Inspector Vikram Patil, along with a police team, reached the spot and began the initial investigation.

Accused Still Absconding

The attacker reportedly fled the scene immediately after opening fire. The exact motive behind the shooting is not yet known. Police officials say that they will record the victim’s statement once his health stabilises.

Investigation Underway

Police are scanning the area, gathering CCTV footage, and questioning locals to identify the assailant and determine the cause of the attack. Further investigation is ongoing.
