Veteran actress and playback singer Sulakshana Pandit passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 71. She breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital, as confirmed by her brother and renowned music composer Lalit Pandit.

Sulakshana Pandit was one of the most celebrated faces of the 1970s and 1980s, known for her soulful voice and graceful performances. She worked with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema and lent her voice to numerous chart-topping songs that remain timeless classics today.

Coming from the illustrious Pandit family of musicians, Sulakshana was the sister of famous music directors Jatin–Lalit. She starred opposite leading actors of her time and was appreciated for her roles in films like Uljhan, Khandaan, Apnapan, and Sankoch.

Her demise has left the Indian film and music industry in deep mourning. Many Bollywood artists, singers, and fans have taken to social media to express their condolences and share memories of her melodious voice and endearing screen presence.

Funeral arrangements are being made, and several film industry personalities are expected to attend the last rites.
