Pet-Friendly Cafés: India’s New Obsession with Paws & Coffee

India’s café culture is going through a warm and fuzzy transformation — Pet-Friendly Cafés are becoming the go-to hangout for animal lovers across urban cities.
These cafés welcome dogs, cats, and sometimes even rabbits or parrots, offering not just a space to chill but also special menus, pet play zones, grooming corners, and social mixers for furry companions. From Mumbai’s posh Bandra lanes to quiet pockets in Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi, pet cafés are more than a trend — they are building inclusive communities around shared love for animals.
“I wanted a place where my dog could be himself — run around, meet other pets, and not be treated like a problem,” says Rachna Kapoor, a pet parent and regular at a dog café in Andheri. “Now it’s part of our weekend routine.”
Some cafés even host pet birthday parties, adoption drives, and therapy sessions for children and the elderly — showing that pets are more than companions; they are community builders.
This rise mirrors a broader shift in India’s lifestyle, where pets are increasingly seen as family, not property, and where businesses are responding with empathy, creativity, and love.
