Gill Doubtful, Rohit Sharma Could Open with Ishan Kishan? India’s Predicted Playing XI for Second ODI Against England

Team India will take on England in the second ODI of the three-match series at Cardiff on Monday, aiming to seal the series after a convincing victory in the opening match. However, the visitors could be forced to make changes to their playing XI due to injury concerns surrounding captain Shubman Gill and fast bowler Gurnoor Brar.

Gill played a brilliant knock of 80 runs in the first ODI but retired hurt after sustaining an injury during his innings. Although he attended the post-match presentation ceremony, the BCCI has not yet issued an official update on his fitness. A final decision regarding his availability is expected before the toss.
If Gill is unavailable, Ishan Kishan is the frontrunner to replace him at the top of the order. In that scenario, Kishan is expected to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma, while the rest of the batting lineup is likely to remain unchanged.
Another concern for India is fast bowler Gurnoor Brar, who impressed with the ball in the opening ODI before leaving the field due to an injury during the 48th over. Given his current fitness status, the team management may avoid taking any risks. If Brar is ruled out, either Arshdeep Singh or Prince Yadav could be drafted into the playing XI.
With experienced players such as Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Jasprit Bumrah in the squad, India will be looking to continue their winning momentum and clinch the ODI series against England.
