CSK Breaks Silence on Hardik Pandya Trade Rumours

Speculation surrounding Hardik Pandya’s future in the IPL continues to intensify after Mumbai Indians’ disappointing 2026 campaign, but Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has now officially dismissed reports claiming the star all-rounder is set for a sensational trade ahead of IPL 2027.

CSK shut down Hardik Pandya trade rumours with blunt response after speculation explodes

Following Mumbai Indians’ ninth-place finish in IPL 2026 under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, reports suggested that several franchises were exploring the possibility of signing the Indian all-rounder. His future has become one of the biggest talking points of the offseason after Mumbai failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second time during his captaincy.

According to reports, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have shown strong interest in acquiring Hardik and have already held multiple discussions with the Mumbai Indians management. Rajasthan Royals (RR) have also reportedly been monitoring the situation, although speculation over a potential swap involving Yashasvi Jaiswal appears unlikely, with Rajasthan reportedly viewing Riyan Parag as its long-term captain.

On Wednesday, fresh reports claimed that Chennai Super Kings were preparing a major trade to bring Hardik Pandya into the squad before the IPL 2027 season. However, the franchise has categorically denied those claims.

CSK CEO Rejects Trade Reports

Speaking to Hindustan Times Digital, CSK Chief Executive Officer Kasi Viswanathan dismissed the rumours.

“There have been no discussions from our side regarding Hardik Pandya. Once the Major League Cricket season concludes, we will review our campaign and only then take decisions about the future.”

Since Chennai Super Kings also owns the Texas Super Kings franchise in Major League Cricket, several senior management officials are currently in the United States, with strategic discussions expected only after the tournament concludes.

Mumbai Indians Yet to Decide

Mumbai Indians have also maintained a cautious stance regarding Hardik’s future.

A franchise spokesperson said the team has only recently begun its post-season review and every aspect of the squad will be evaluated before any decisions are made.

For now, despite widespread speculation, neither Mumbai Indians nor Chennai Super Kings has confirmed any trade involving Hardik Pandya, leaving his IPL future uncertain.
