A years-old controversy involving Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh has once again returned to the spotlight after fresh revelations were made during a recent podcast discussion. According to a senior entertainment journalist who spoke on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, Chitrangada Singh abruptly exited the film midway through production following a dispute over an intimate scene involving co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

At the time, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz was being filmed with Chitrangada Singh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Reports suggest that during the shoot, the actress was asked to perform a highly intimate kissing sequence. However, she allegedly became uncomfortable with the manner in which the scene was being directed and filmed.

Sources claim Chitrangada raised objections to the sequence and expressed her concerns to the filmmakers. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a serious conflict between the actress and the film’s director.

Rather than compromise on what she believed were her professional boundaries, Chitrangada decided to leave the project altogether. Her sudden exit created a major buzz in Bollywood at the time and became one of the most talked-about controversies surrounding the film.

Following her departure, the makers recast the role and brought actress Bidita Bag on board to complete the project opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
