New Delhi: In a strong diplomatic message amid rising tensions in West Asia, Abbas Araghchi stated that military action can never be the final solution to issues involving Iran. Speaking during his India visit in New Delhi, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that peace, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement remain the only effective path forward.

Addressing the sensitive situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi assured that Iran is fully prepared to ensure the safe movement of all commercial vessels passing through the crucial maritime route. He highlighted that the current situation in the region remains extremely complex and warned that confrontation without dialogue could further destabilize global trade and security.

“We are ready to cooperate to guarantee safe passage for all ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” Araghchi said. He further added that Iran would welcome any constructive initiative taken by China to ease tensions and restore stability in the region.

The Iranian minister firmly reiterated that Iran has never pursued nuclear weapons ambitions and stressed that diplomacy has always been Tehran’s priority. He also noted that Iran has continuously worked towards maintaining ceasefire efforts and preventing escalation in the conflict-hit region.

Speaking on India’s possible mediation role in the ongoing crisis, Araghchi openly welcomed New Delhi’s involvement. “If India wishes to play any constructive role during this difficult period, Iran will sincerely welcome it,” he stated. He underlined that India’s historical relationship with Iran could help strengthen regional peace efforts.

During the interaction, Araghchi also commented on the role of Pakistan and the United States. He clarified that Pakistan’s mediation efforts have not failed so far, while sharply criticizing Washington’s approach towards Tehran. According to him, Iran has enough reasons to distrust the United States, and it is now America’s responsibility to rebuild trust through genuine diplomatic efforts.
