Immediate Implementation of 27 Schemes for Students and Women Demanded; Former Corporator Sandeep Waghere Submits a Memorandum to the Commissioner

Pimpri-Chinchwad |  Although schools and colleges within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits have reopened, important schemes intended for students and women have yet to be announced. As a result, students are not receiving scholarships, educational materials, and other benefits on time.

In this context, former corporator Sandeep Waghere has submitted a memorandum to PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, demanding the urgent implementation of 27 welfare schemes.

The memorandum includes the following schemes:

  1. Financial assistance for bicycles to girl students from grades 8 to 10

  2. Aid for educational material purchase for 10th-grade girls in the SSC board

  3. Ramabhau Mhalgi Scheme – Support for girls undergoing technical/engineering training

  4. Loknayak Gopinath Munde Scheme – Financial assistance for post-12th courses in medical/engineering/nursing fields

  5. Savitribai Phule Award – Mementos to be presented to social organizations

  6. Provision of shop spaces for registered women’s self-help groups for business

  7. Rani Laxmibai Scheme – Kung Fu and Karate training for girls

  8. Yoga training programs for women

  9. Vocational skill development training for women

  10. Four-wheeler driving training for women

  11. Awards for students scoring above 90% in 10th grade

  12. Awards for students scoring 80–90% in 10th grade

  13. Awards for students scoring above 90% in 12th grade

  14. Awards for students scoring 80–90% in 12th grade

  15. Scholarships for orphaned/destitute students from 1st grade to post-graduation

  16. Assistance to parents/institutions caring for HIV/AIDS-affected children aged 0 to 21

  17. Free PMPML bus passes for HIV/AIDS-affected individuals

  18. Business training for minority community youth

  19. Annual scholarships for children working as domestic help in municipal schools

  20. Scholarships for children of waste pickers in 10th and 12th grades

  21. Free bicycles for waste pickers’ children studying in grades 8 to 10

  22. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Scheme – Scholarships for specially-abled students aged 4 to 18

  23. Financial aid for children with disabilities who cannot attend school

  24. Free PMPML bus pass facility for persons with disabilities

  25. Free PMPML bus pass for one companion of visually impaired persons above 60 years of age

  26. Computer training in MS-CIT, DTP, Tally for specially-abled students

  27. Voluntary grants for various social organizations

Sandeep Waghere has strongly demanded that these schemes be launched as soon as possible to provide timely relief to thousands of students, women, and special groups within the municipal limits. He also urged the Commissioner to instruct the concerned departments for immediate action.
