Pimpri-Chinchwad: Ward No. 7 Bhosari Gavthan-Gavhane vasti’s corporator Prof. Sonali Gavhane has submitted a representation to Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Mr. Shravan Hardikar, demanding the development of a separate and safe ‘walking track’ on the road near Suvidha Park.

Prof. Gavhane said that the citizens of the ward come to Suvidha Park for ‘morning walk’ in the morning and evening. It is very important to have a safe place for senior citizens, women and children to walk. Currently, due to the lack of a separate track on the road, citizens have to walk on the main road, which increases the risk of accidents and creates traffic congestion. “If there is a safe and level walking track, it will be easier for citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle,” said Prof. Gavhane.

Prof. Gavhane has proposed the following in the statement: This includes a level and safe walking track with rubberized or paver blocks, adequate lighting, which will ensure safety in the morning and evening. Seating benches and dustbins, green belt and beautification, which will enhance the beauty of the area. It has been suggested that there should be easy access for senior citizens and the disabled. This initiative will provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for the citizens. It will also boost the “Fit City” concept of the Municipal Corporation.

For this, the Municipal Corporation should make necessary provisions for this work in the 2026-27 budget. He has demanded that the technical proposal be submitted immediately by the concerned department and the implementation of the project should start as soon as possible. This will provide a safe and suitable place for walking to the citizens of the Suvidha Park and the area. It is expected that the health and fitness initiatives of the Municipal Corporation will be boosted.

“A safe and healthy environment is the right of every citizen. If a separate walking track is created near the Suvidha Park, all the citizens of the ward, especially senior citizens and women, will be able to walk happily in the morning and evening. I believe that this initiative will definitely promote a healthy lifestyle in the ward.”
